Biography
Since 2016, President of the All-Russian public organization “Free Economic Society of Russia" (the first Institute of civil society in the country, the successor of the Imperial Free Economic Society of Russia. In 2015 the Society celebrated its 250th anniversary). Born on August 25, 1958, in Brilevo village, Gomel region (now Belarus). In 1980 he graduated from the faculty of mechanics and mathematics of the Francisk Skorina Gomel State University (Belarus) trained as a teacher of mathematics, an IT engineer, and an IT specialist. After the graduation he worked as a software engineer, a researcher at the Gomel State University, the Director of the Gomel Center of Scientific and Technical Information, the General Director of the Belarusian Republican Agency of Scientific and Technical Information. For 10 years he headed OAO Aerospace Equipment Corporation. Since April 2011, he has been one of the founders and the Director of the Witte Institute for New Industrial Development (INIR).
The main subject of the INIR’s research activities is a wide range of issues related to the reindustrialization of the Russian economy, the study of economic mechanisms and tools for modernization, forecasting medium-term and long-term institutional, economic and technological effects, etc. Sergei Bodrunov is a well-known expert in the field of economics. He has been an active speaker at all major scientific and economic forums for the last 10 years, and has made more than 250 reports and scientific announcements; a significant part of them has been published in scientific journals. He has published more than 600 scientific publications, including more than 30 monographs. The most important works by Sergey Bodrunov are theoretical studies in the following areas: industrial development of the economy; information technologies application at the implementation of economic solutions; research, theoretical and practical development of conceptual platforms for the development of complex industrial sectors of the economy (aircraft, automotive, IT-sector, instrumentation); research of innovative and investment parameters of the economy, intellectualization of labor in the economy of the future. One of the greatest researchers and developer of the strategy of reindustrialization of the Russian economy; member of the development group of the National Technology Initiative at the Presidium of RAS. Author of the concept of a new industrial society of the second generation and nooindustrial development of the society.
Sergey Bodrunov is one of the greatest researchers and the developer of the strategy of reindustrialization of the Russian economy, the author of the concept of a new industrial society of the second generation and nooindustrial development of the society, ‘noonomics’.
Under his leadership, the Free Economic Society of Russia initiated and successfully implemented large-scale All-Russian projects aimed at education and popularization of economic science. S. D. Bodrunov is the editor-in-chief of the scientific and analytical publications “Transactions of the Free Economic Society of Russia”, “Economic Revival of Russia", as well as the analytical journal “Free economy”.
S.D. Bodrunov was one of the developers and investors of the project “Yandex-money” (payment service “Yandex”, one of the largest search engines in the global Internet), as well as a number of similar projects.
